It's been forever since I blogged and the beginning of busy season is probably not the time to promise that I'll get better...however, I did just send an email to my dear friend Rebecca updating her as to the status of life at the Oury house so I figured it would be appropriate to cut & paste a portion of the message here to serve as, at least, an attempt to get back on track.
Jason & I have both been actively addressing the issue of our weight. With the help of a great doctor in Geneva, AL - Jason has shed over 65 pounds since the early fall. I just jumped on board in December and am already down 10 pounds. In addition to the doctor's help, we've eliminated our soda intake and have significanly reduced the fat in our diet. Here's to a healthier 2009!
Nicholas is almost 16 months old and loves to chase Taylor and the dogs. He also LOVES to experiment with his voice and the noises he can make...hearing himself scream and blowing raspberries amuse him to no end! He also likes playing patty-cake and dancing...he was directing the choir in church Sunday. :) He waves his little arms around anytime he hears music.
We just signed Taylor up for coach-pitch again this year. He's very excited. His baseball and football teams took first place in 2008, so they've got a lot to live up to! He's doing okay in school, not great but we're getting by. He's just a typical boy and most of it is just not important to him right now. He has also really developed a sensitive side lately -- constantly telling us how much he loves us and how lucky he is to live in a house with a mommy & a daddy. I think he has come to realize lately that not all kids have a home life like he does...it's sad but at least he's aware of the world around him a little more.
Justin, Jason's brother who'd been staying with us a few weeks and comtemplating a move to Florida, has decided to stay in Hattiesburg...at least for the time being. We miss him but just want the best for him. I hope he'll reconsider moving once he gets some personal issues sorted out.
I'm starting a Beth Moore bible study tomorrow night... I know, crazy to think about during tax season but I think it's something I need right now. It'll be my first one and I hear they are addicting. I'm extremely excited about the fellowship with the ladies and exploring God's Word.
Well, the Auditing portion of the CPA exam is behind me! I passed in November. Part #2 (of 4) was tackled on January 5 and I'm awaiting my score now. Hopefully by sometime this summer I'll be finished with it all. :)
I'll try to post some pictures soon...I hope this blog finds all of my dear friends and family well in this new year!
